Futsal and Shopping

Saturday Dec 5
Mike was the lead car driver, taking three boys , one dad and us to Cedar Ridge and Queensland Futsal Centre where Joshi's team, The Bulldogs, was playing in a tournament. A huge hangar where two games could go on at the same time. Josh wasn't on until 9.30. We watched that game where they played appallingly and lost 7-3.

Mike said he'd never seen them play so badly. Pam and I left the hot and airless cavern at that point to get home to Sara who wanted to take us shopping in an Indian furniture and ornament shop. She'd got some very lovely elephant drawer handles there and Pam wanted some. None left.
After taking Harry to a party we three then went supermarket shopping in Kenmore village. The food is not cheap, especially compared against our exchange rate. Pam and I and , intermittently, Sara, sat outside for the rest of the afternoon, catching whatever breeze there was. Mike phoned at 5 o'clock to say that although they'd lost all their games, they were in the semi finals as there were only four teams in their age group. A nonsense. The next phone message was ' the b-----ds have won and are through to the finals'. Ridiculous.
Mike arrived home for supper at 7.30 carrying Josh, he'd been kicked and trodden on in the final - which they lost. A very long day for everyone. Josh was white with exhaustion and Mike tired out. Supper, at last, at 7.45.
