Not a Lot Really....

Pam did two loads of washing, hung out by 8.00 a.m.; I stayed in bed reading, with random visits from the boys and a yowling cat.
We'd planned a food shopping trip and did so - after Harry had decided whether or not he was going to Balbowrie swimming pool with Mike and Josh. A groiup of J's friends and their parent(s) had agreed to meet there. Harry has a heavy cold and decided he'd rather stay with us. We whizzed off to Kenmore Village and by the time we returned, Mike and J had left and Harry was dressed and waiting to be taken out for lunch.
Colleges Crossing is a favourite place of mine, both to walk and to have lunch. It's 20K from Chapel Hill in a very tamed wilderness area on the banks of the tidal Brisbane River. The cafe is situated on a rise above the water, under an awning around a giant, very shady tree. The trunk and roots are lovely. Because the awning is open on all sides with tables set around the edge, there always seems to be a through breeze. A table of nine just ahead of us meant a longish wait for our food - toasted BLT for me, Harry, a hot dog and Pam a bacon and egg roll. Harry loved using my binocs and actually found several pairs of Galahs and Little Corellas sitting motionless in the canopy above. We hadn't noticed them.
Back to sit at the patio table and to read the weekly Daily Telegraph I bought this morning. A good breeze this afternoon. Although I read the UK dailies online, it's not the same as having a paper in the hand.
An Email from Joan gave news of the first smattering of snow in Bacton, seems unreal...........
So as you don't get bird withdrawal, the Masked Lapwing is a very common bird, both here and on Bruny, there's a pair nesting down the road .
